Attention: Anyone interested in Managing/Coaching in Southern Youth Baseball (SYB) in 2012.

We would like to thank you for volunteering to manage or coach in our league this upcoming season.

The following is the process for applying to managing or coaching in S.Y.B. for 2012 season:

1. Complete a Volunteer Application at signups and submit it.

2. Obtain Cal Ripken Coaching Certification

3. Meet with S.Y.B. Manager/Coaching Committee (You will be contacted about time and location).

4. S.Y.B. Manager/Coaching Committee will recommend to the Board for Approval and placement on a specific team roster.

The above process applies to all potential Managers and Coaches – not just new Managers and Coaches.

This includes, but not limited to; employment records, criminal background records, criminal background checks, fingerprints, driver’s record checks, coaching experience, personal references and addresses.

I authorize this information to be obtained in writing, email, internet searches, telephone and or in person in connection with my volunteer application.

I understand my position is contingent upon approval by S.Y.B. Board. I understand that regardless of any prior volunteer activities or positions on behalf of S.Y.B. or any other sports organizations, that S.Y.B. is not required to allow my participation. This may be due to the information obtained from background checks (civil or criminal), committee approval, or due to lack of positions available within S.Y.B. and its sanctioned teams.

I agree to hold harmless and indemnify from liability S.Y.B. and it directors, officers, employees and other volunteers from al liability arising out of use of the information that is uncovered in any of the background checks.
